2.2.5 → 2.2.6

Minor bug fix.  This will only affect people who have a NULL username or password for access to their database.

The class was originally not allowing it, but this has now been changed, along with some of the default values for database connection information.

Minor Issue in 2.2.5

Filed under: Updates — judda @ 12:00 pm

I found out that there was a minor typo in the released version 2.2.5.  So if you have downloaded a copy of it before now, please re-download the class in order to fix it.

The issue it was causing was in the use of the numRows function, it would just provide an error message and then be done with it.

2.2.4 → 2.2.5

Sorry for the long delay between updates.

The following things were changed:

  • freeResults now frees up all of the memory associated with the entire  results array
  • Added a function ‘getInsertId’ to retrieve the last insert id from the query
  • Removed PHP deprecated functions (replaced them with the functions which are going to stay)

Functionality Improvement.

You are now able to retrieve any error messages returned by the database after a query has been run.  To make use of this function you can do the following:

$res = $db -> query ( “SELECT `hello` FROM `donotexist`” );

echo ( $db -> retrieveErrorMessage ( $res ) ); //This will only display the error message

or

print_r ( $db -> retrieveErrorMessage ( $res, FALSE ) ); //This will print out the entire exception object (click here for information on exceptions)

2.2.2 → 2.2.3

  • %b can now be used to insert binary files into the database

2.2.1 → 2.2.2

Filed under: Updates — judda @ 6:57 pm

Functionality update.

  • %i can now be used to insert an IP Address into the database.
  • Added a bit more error handling on all of the functions which are used after query (i.e. getArray, getBoth, retrieveAllRows etc.)

2.2.0 → 2.2.1

Filed under: Updates — judda @ 10:08 am

This update fixed a huge issue with the ‘numRows’ function.  Prior to 2.2.1, the ‘numRows’ function relied on the ‘rowCount’ function which is built into the PDOStatement which according to the documentation doesn’t actually grab the number of results grabbed by the ‘SELECT’ query.

2.1.0 → 2.2.0

Filed under: Updates — judda @ 10:05 pm

Major update.

Added 3 additional functions:

  1. Counting of how many successful database queries were executed
  2. Keeping track of the amount of time that it took to run all queries
  3. Giving the opportunity to keep a log of all the database queries and the amount of time the application spent executing them
